So What's the Skinny on San Diego?

That's exactly what we're going to answer on this blog!!
  • FOOD For family night, date night, hooking up, hanging out, celebrating or just noshing and throwing back a drink, Where To Go?
  • FAMILY It's Friday Night Family Night, and you're all sitting around trying to avoid the same pizza joint and bookstore- check out SD Skinny; we'll have the places to go for family learning, fun, relaxation and surprise.
  • DATE NIGHT Married or just hooked up, where to go when you want to laugh and talk?
  • MARRIED WITH CHILDREN Classes? Vacations? Mini freakouts followed by strong desire to forget your problems? Homeschooling? Genius child? ADD? Behavior problem? Budget? New baby? Sex life? Laughter? Love? All here.
  • VACATIONING What's free? What's new? What's time tested and top notch? What's interesting that I can't see/get anywhere else? Where should we stay? What's so special about San Diego? We will tell you.
  • LIVING San Diego housing, real estate, business, investing, neighborhoods, schools, crime, politics, challenges and strengths.
  • SHOPPING Fashion, clothing for kids, food, bargains, upscale, home made, small business, tucked away or on every corner, where can you get it, buy it, explore it? We will tell you.
  • SECRET SAN DIEGO What is tucked away, a hidden gem, hardly talked about but greatly valued, enjoyed but kept on the down low? That's what we know, and you'll find out.
  • BARGAINS If there's a bargain and we find out about it, so will you!

Though it does not have the artistic edge and allure of San Francisco, I love everything else about San Diego. I went to the University of San Diego, only for a semester because I couldn't afford it. That decision was tough - utterly heartbreaking.

Brilliant blog! It must be nice to feel "connected" to so many people. Where I live, we have a coal mining museum, that's it (haha).

Hi, and thans for stopping by my humble little blog! I apprecaite the recommendation for melatonin. (I stayed up half the night again last night. Ugh.)

I just have to check that it is safe while breastfeeding. I actually think my child is finally weaning and that might be messing with me hormonally. At least that is when the no-sleep thing began.

Thanks again!

Have seen you plenty of times at Green Stone Women's blog, but because of your wisdom I always pictured you much older, LOL!

I lOVE san Diego - it's a city where I and hubby like to hang out when nothing is going on. We mostly go to Old Town, Balboa Park, or at the coast -can't remember the name of the Village, with lots of shops - Upstart Crow is my favorite coffeeshop (made a few watercolors I posted in that shop.

I was all "How did she post two days in the future?" for literally like 15 seconds and then I was all "Oh. Right. 2008." How are you still getting serious comments about what's to come two years later?! Am I just blocked from all other posts? Man...

Oh I grew up in San Diego and LOVED every second of it :) I should send you my moms email because she is the PRO planner for this kind of thing! haha
If you are staying downtown you should hit up "Little Italy" for dinner or lunch sometime. Just ask someone where it is and it is a whole street of Italian food options!
Also Balboa park is my favorite. It is free to walk around and they have an imax theater there and some other cool muesums and exhibits going on. Sometimes even puppet shows. Look up their site to see what is going on!
Also you should go to Coronado Island to ride bikes or have a picnic. You can even see the Hotel Del :) There use to be a little boat ride you could take from San Diego bay over to the Island but im not sure if they still do that!
then there is always Sea World, which is a total blast and I personally think cooler then Disneyland.
Hit the BEACH!
Hope this helped yah!

Hello, friend. I wanted to stop by and thank you for being a part of my blog in 2013. You have been a blessing to me. For the coming year, I have a few wishes for you.

May 2014 bring you much joy.
May we all have peace in our homes,
laughter by our firesides,
time spent with family,
and contentment in our hearts.
Be well, my friend.
